AFFIRMATION OF ST. LOUIS 

El Movimiento Anglicano de Continuación es un grupo de iglesias cristianas herederas de la tradición anglicana, que bajo el liderazgo y la dirección del Obispo Albert Arthur Chambers se separaron de la Comunión Anglicana de Canterbury debido a su rechazo hacia lo que perciben como un alejamiento de la ortodoxia por la iglesia oficial de Canterbury. The Continuing Anglican Movement encompasses a number of Christian churches in various countries that are Anglican in faith, history, and practice. Under the leadership of Bishop Albert Arthur Chambers, they got separated of Canterbury has become either unorthodox or un-Christian and therefore have not sought to also be in communion with them.

El movimiento se originó primero en la Iglesia Episcopal en los Estados Unidos de América (ECUSA) y también en la Iglesia Anglicana del Canadá. Las iglesias relacionadas en otros países, como la Iglesia Católica Anglicana en EE.UU ,Canada y Australia y la Iglesia de Inglaterra (Continuación) fueron fundadas posteriormente. The Continuing Anglican movement originated in the Episcopal Church in the United States of America and the Anglican Church of Canada. Related churches in other countries, such as the Anglican Catholic Church in Australia and the Church of England (Continuing), were founded later.

En 1977, varios miles de clérigos y laicos episcopalianos discrepantes de aquellas decisiones y acciones respondieron con un encuentro en San Luis (Missouri), bajo el auspicio de la Fraternidad de Clérigos Preocupados (Fellowship of Concerned Churchmen) llamado Congreso de St. Louis en donde adoptaron su declaración teológica fundamental, la Afirmación de San Luis.  In 1977, several thousand dissenting clergy and laypersons responded to those actions by meeting in St. Louis, Missouri under the auspices of the Fellowship of Concerned Churchmen and adopted a theological statement, the Affirmation of St. Louis.

Tal documento expresaba su determinación de "seguir en la fe católica, el orden apostólico, la adoración ortodoxa y el testimonio evangélico de la iglesia anglicana tradicional, haciendo todas las cosas necesarias para la continuación de la misma".  The Affirmation expressed a determination "to continue in the Catholic Faith, Apostolic Order, Orthodox Worship and Evangelical Witness of the traditional Anglican Church, doing all things necessary for the continuance of the same."
